Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering provides a curriculum designed to nurture engineers for research, system design, development of hardware and software, measurement experiments, manufacturing and quality control across a wide spectrum of fields to develop high caliber engineers for careers not only in engineering but also for training specialists or administrative or policy experts in the relevant fields. Our programs include courses in Automobiles / Environment / Energy, Applied Information Systems, System Design, among others.
Department of Mechatronics Engineering
The Department of Mechatronics Engineering is focused on developing creative talents with the ability to effectively resolve technical problems that may arise in the industrial fields in the current highly industrial society as well as expert knowledge in their fields of expertise. Courses offered include Nanotechnology and Automatic Control Systems, among others.
Department of Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering
The Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering offers master as and doctorate programs in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Communication Engineering, with the goal of producing specialists in technical training and technical talents with highly pragmatic skill sets. The Electrical Engineering track offers research opportunities in Energy Systems, especially green energy technologies such as Solar Power Generation, Smart Grids, Electric Cars, Wind Power Generation, Fuel Cell Power Generation, and other areas of essential source technologies related to the production of green energy. The Electronics Engineering track offers research opportunities in Circuits & Systems, Signal Processing, Semiconductors, CAD, Electromagnetic waves, among others. Computer engineering is the key driver of societal development in the modern day and is expected to continue to play a pivotal role in the knowledge-based information world of the future. To meet the rising demand for computer engineering professionals who can proactively address the fast evolution in computer science and engineering, our Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers Master as and Doctorate programs to focused on both concrete theory and practical skill sets to nurture engineers that are highly demanded in the field. Department of Design Engineering
The Department of Design Engineering offers a curriculum of design education tuned to concurrent engineering and practical needs of the field. Our program is aimed at nurturing field trainers of design engineering and design engineering experts with outstanding skill sets, with the ability to solve societal and industrial problems through design, based on an ability to understand societal and industrial issues. Our courses are designed to maximize the application of knowledge and experience in natural science and engineering, not as variables of design but as its elements.
Department of Architectural Engineering
The Department of Architectural Engineering aims to foster professional architecture trainers and experts who are highly demanded by the nation and the new industrial society of our future, in line with international accreditation standards, offering a curriculum designed to promote a general understanding of construction engineering and the ability to problem-solve based on fundamental theories and practices in construction engineering and architectural engineering. The Construction Engineering track offers opportunity to specialize in practical architectural designing, in classes led jointly by a home professor and a professional architect from the field, reflecting a strong link of the program with the market. The goal of the Architectural Engineering track is to promote expertise in building structures, materials and building installation technology. Ultimately, this track aims to promote free exchange of resources and technology among APEC states as "APEC Engineers"based on conclusion of bilateral recognition of technical qualifications among members states.
Department of Energy, Materials & Chemical Engineering
In meeting the demands of the environmentally-conscious and knowledge-based society, the Graduate School of Energy, Materials and Chemical Engineering aims to foster creative engineering experts capable of conducting R&D for new materials, new substances, and new process technologies in the latest cutting-edge fields of IT, NT, BT, and ET, among others. To achieve this objective, we offer intensive courses in new material design and assessment as well as new chemical engineering processes as the basis for research theories. Students are offered latest facilities for R&D in our practical laboratories to engage in research of one of the highest standards. The ultimate goal of this program is to nurture leading researchers and developers in the fields of new materials and new chemical engineering processes, to meet the demands of the newly emerging industries in the relevant fields designated as "new engines of growth"by the Korean government.
The New Materials track offers intensive courses in semiconductor display, automobiles, machinery and steel-related areas as well as an independent academic research in the related areas to develop creative experts in the development of new material technology. The Chemical Engineering track will offer courses in Fine Chemicals, Macromolecules, Biotechnology and Environmental Industry, as well as independent research opportunities to develop students into creative research experts highly demanded for R&D in materials and process areas.
The Department of Energy, Materials and Chemical Engineering has more than 180 types of cutting-edge R&D facilities and equipment, 16 excellent faculty members engaged in new materials and chemical engineering research and development. The Department has published some 50 research papers in well-known journals in and outside of Korea. Most graduates are currently working in government-funded research institutes and research institutes affiliated to corporations in key industries in Korea.
Department of industrial Management
The graduate School of Industrial Management provides the curriculum to foster specialists with the intellectual skills and ability to serve as proactive and creative agents in the digital society. In order to achieve this mission, the School applies three fundamental principles in its education: Industry Oriented Learning, Practices Oriented Learning and Techno-Management Link Learning that is linked to techno-management. The School offers two major programs which include Business Management and Technology Management.
This program offers business management studies. The program focuses on developing Business experts, in demand by companies, based on an interdisciplinary study of business administration, public administration, law, economics, psychology, education, among others. Courses cover various topics including Human Resource Development, Marketing and Finance, Business Strategies, Big Data Analytics, e-Business, Production and Quality Management. Data science, advanced statistics, econometric analysis, and the application and use of computer tools are also provided to foster the ability to manage human and information resources management that meet the demands of the Information Society.
Technology and business management is combined in this track, to develop experts who can analyze and find solutions to problems based on scientific analysis and implementation. Compared to existing business management courses, this track allows the students to acquire a broad spectrum of technical knowledge and technology management skills on top of basic business management principles. These courses are designed to foster the ability required of managers in technology-intensive industries such as venture start-ups, nurturing students as experts with creative minds, proactive attitudes and an understanding of the underlying technology.
