Graduate school of Techno HRD

School Synopsis

The Graduate School of Techno HRD is the only professional graduate school program in the field of Professional HR in Korea established on the philosophy of "Seeking Truth from Facts." We offer programs in HR, to contribute to promoting experts and establish an academic system in the field through training of HR experts and R&D. With a goal to achieving interdisciplinary and pragmatic learning in the field of HR, the HRD Department offers education in the theory and practice across the entire spectrum of HR, including opportunities to major in Employment & Vocational Competence Development Policy, HRD(Human Resource Development), HRM(Human Resource Management) & CVC(Career and Vocational Counseling).

With the overall aim of producing HR experts including National Human Resource Development (NHRD) specialists, employment & vocational competence development policy specialists, employment service experts, employment insurance experts, industrial accident experts, HRD experts for the corporate sector, HR management consultants for SMEs, career counselors, technical education experts, e-LEARNING experts, among others, our department offers courses in basic HR research, application research, diagnosis and problem-solving for consultants, education & training programs as well as R&D in training medium, publication of academic journals, publication of specialized books, building databases, with the aim to establish a firm basis for academic research in the field of HR and to offer intensive courses for specialization by encouraging academic research activities in the field.

Employment Track

This program was the first program in employment studies introduced in Korea with the purpose of offering a combination of interdisciplinary education and practical application needs across all aspects of employment issues, designed to develop employment professionals of the highest standard. Courses offered include employment policy, vocational competence development policy, employment policies for the aging society, employment policies for non-regular employees and other vulnerable groups, employment policies for women, employment policies for the disabled, advancement of employment services, foreigners employment policy, employment policies for defectors from North Korea, employment insurance, industrial accident insurance, public pensions, retirement pensions, and other social protection and insurance instruments in an interdisciplinary approach, based on the educational philosophy of "Seeking Truth from Facts,“

Human Resource Development Track

The objective of HRD track is to meet the changing needs of diverse environment by developing HRD professionals for competency building, career development and organization development applied to companies and vocational training institutions. Based on HRD theory and practice, our courses include individual development (ID), career development (CD), and organization development (OD) aiming at qualitative enhancement of researchers and practitioners in the fields of vocational training and corporate education, with a focus on the development of human resources.

Human Resource Management Track

The Human Resource Management Track provides opportunities to learn the relevant theories and implementing methodologies for effective human resource management at organizations and companies. An interdisciplinary approach is applied involving fields relevant to human resources, such as strategic management and industrial relation from business administration, labor market theories from economics, organization behavior theory from psychology and macro organization theory from sociology. Basic theory and practical training are offered for training HR consultants and experts through general lectures, seminars, reflecting key issues, latest trends and providing practical methodologies.

Career and Vocational Counseling Track

Career and Vocational Counseling Track is designed to train career and vocation counseling specialists helping the overall experience of an individual's lifelong career issues, such as career and vocation choices, career decision-making, career transition, and career development. As the only specialized HRD field in Korea, this track produces career and vocation counseling experts with differentiated curriculums and interdisciplinary links.
