Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (School of Energy, Materials & Chemical Engineering)
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has been established as a convergence major to create a synergy effect through an ideal combination of the chemistry and chemical engineering field to respond to the wide range of demands in the domestic chemical industry. The study of chemistry covers the conversion of components and the properties of materials, and chemical engineering deals with the processes used to mass-produce products. The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering established through the convergence of those two areas is designed to actively respond to the era of the fourth industrial revolution, and contribute to improving the well-being and health of mankind and cultivating talented individuals who can work in the four major industry sectors (functional chemical materials, biochemistry, materials and parts, and chemical processes).
