Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea in pursuit of academic degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.
Duration of Scholarship
- (General) Undergraduate: Korean language program 1 year + degree curriculum 4 years 4-year major in a Korean university]
Majors that require over 4 years are not approved (medical science, architecture, etc.) - (UIC) Undergraduate: Degree curriculum 4 years 4-year major in a Korean university]

Graduate: Korean language program 1 year + degree curriculum (master's 2 years/doctor's 3 years)
Research program(6 months or 1 year)
Graduate program, doctoral program, combined master's and doctorate program established in a Korean university.

Selection Schedule
Applicants who pass the first round (document screening and interview) will be required to submit the original hard-copy documents at a later stage.

Application submission Guide

Document preparation for application
- Official English test score report (TOEFL iBT 59, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, NEW TEPS 202)
- Passport copy
- Applicants from countries where English is the native or official language may submit proof of completing higher education in English (e.g., graduation certificate) instead of an English test score.
- Forms 1–6: Must be completed in English or Korean, signed by the applicant, and submitted.
- Forms 7–10 (Required Certificates): Must be apostilled or consular confirmed.
- Documents written in other languages: Must obtain apostille or consular confirmation either on the original document or the certified translation. Both the original document and the certified translation must be submitted together.
- All apostilled or consular-confirmed certificates must be ready and included in the 1st round (email) submission.
Later submission or replacement of unverified documents is NOT allowed. - Notarized or original documents without apostille/consular confirmation are NOT acceptable
- Letter of recommendation must be submitted in a sealed letter from one recommender.
*NOTE*
- Applicants must choose and apply for only ONE track. University track applicant must choose only ONE of the following programs: General, Regional University, UIC/R&D Program, or Research Program.
- Embassy track applicant whose application have not passed the first round of selection* may apply to a university track as long as they can meet the application deadline of the re-applying university.
Successful candidates of the first round of selection (whose names were forwarded to NIIED from each including backup candidated) cannot apply for a university track again
- Applicants must have maintained a grade point average (C.G.P.A.) of at least 2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4. 3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale, or grades/marks/score of 80% or higher from the previously attended institution. If an applicant does not satisfy the above CGPA criteria, he/she will be disqualified from applying to this program.
