School of Computer Science and Engineering
The School of Computer Science and Engineering is on a mission to lead global education in human-centered intelligence information technology and has a vision of cultivating professionals in intelligent digitalization computing technology. To accomplish this, the school covers three fields: Internet of things (IoT), software and artificial intelligence. Considering the nature of these fields, which are strongly interrelated, the school provides in-depth education with three tracks—the smart IoT track, software track and AI track, to enable convergent education in multiple fields based on education covering the key theories and knowledge in computer engineering and computer science. Through this, the School of Computer Science and Engineering cultivates ‘key computer engineering talents who will lead a human-centered intelligence information society.’ The School of Computer Science and Engineering has been operating advanced computer engineering programs certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK) since the 2006 school year.
How can students study computer science?
Basic knowledge related to computer hardware and software is learned in freshman and sophomore years, and various major elective courses are offered in three tracks, Smart IoT, Software and AI, as well as common major in-depth education. Engineering accreditation programs that meet the international engineering accreditation standard are also operated.
-
Smart IoT Track
The Smart IoT track cultivates IoT developers who have basic software knowledge. To this end, students take foundational courses, such as Introduction to IoT and Basic Design, and study in-depth key element technologies including IoT networks and platforms and IoT-embedded systems, and application fields including IoT applications and service, and intelligent IoT application.
-
Software Track
The Software track cultivates software developers who have basic hardware knowledge. To accomplish this, students receive traditional computing education in databases, software engineering and compilers and study in-depth application fields including machine learning, AI, web service and information security.
-
AI Track
The AI track cultivates professionals who can understand and utilize modern AI technology. To this end, students take foundational AI courses, such as AI Basics and Machine Learning, and study application fields including computer vision, natural language processing, data mining, and big data processing.
