Recruitment of Tutors and Tutees for the Global Competency Enhancement Tutoring Program

1. Tutoring Program

1) Korean Language Tutoring
Korean students or international students with TOPIK Level 5 or higherwill provide Korean language tutoring to international students who wish to improve their Korean language proficiency.

2) Foreign Language (English) Tutoring

International students from English-speaking countries or those with high scores on recognized English proficiency tests will provide English language tutoring to Korean students.

3) Major-Specific Academic Tutoring

Academic support will be provided to international students in the following majors: Mechanical Engineering / Computer Engineering

※ Participation of international students is mandatory for all Global Competency Enhancement Tutoring activities.

2. Program Period

August 31 – December 31, 2026

3. Program Operation

1) Tutoring will be conducted one-on-one or in small groups.

2) Tutors are required to submit a monthly activity report.

3) A cultural experience programis scheduled to take place around November–December.

4. Number of Tutors to Be Selected

: 7 tutorsin total (Korean Language, English, and Major-Specific Tutoring)

5. Tutor Scholarship

• Up to 40 hours of tutoring per monthwill be recognized.

• Undergraduate students: KRW 12,384 per hour
  (Based on the scholarship rate for Mentor Volunteer Service II)

6. Tutor Eligibility

Currently enrolled Korean or international undergraduate studentsmay apply. (excluding students on leave of absence and graduates)

Common Requirements

• Applicants must have completed at least one semester of their first year.
  (Transfer students: at least one semester of their third year)

• Applicants must have either: a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, or a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the previous semester.

1) Korean Language Tutors

International students:TOPIK Level 5 or higher is required.

Korean students:Preference will be given to students who hold a Korean language teaching certificate.

2) Foreign Language (English) Tutors

Preference will be given to:

Students from English-speaking countries, or

Students with high scores on recognized English proficiency tests, such as:

• TOEFL iBT 60 or higher

• IELTS Level 6 or higher

• TOEIC 800 or higher

3) Major-Specific Tutors

: For Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering: Applicants must have either a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higheror a GPA of 3.5 or higher in the previous semester.

7. Tutor Selection Criteria

Total: 100 points + up to 30 bonus points

8. Application Period for Tutors and Tutees

Until August 17, 2026 (Monday), 24:00

9. Selection of Tutors and Tutees

Scheduled for August 26–27, 2026 (Wednesday–Thursday)

※ Selected applicants will be notified separately. The schedule is subject to change depending on circumstances.

※ If there are insufficient tutor or tutee applicants in a particular field, the corresponding tutoring program may be canceled or modified.
